Your asleep
It's the middle of the night
You were having a nightmare
You wake up in sudden fright
You hear footsteps
You ask who's there?
No response for you
Then there's a difference in the air

It's cold no frigid
So cold you can see your breath
You hug yourself to stay warm
Then you see a shadow to your left

Who's there! you shout again
The shadow moves
So slow yet effortlessly
It moves towards you

You scream bloody murder
Hoping someone will hear
The dark thing reaches you
You shake in fear

It leans in your face
and says "Don't be afraid"
It begins to take shape
In the form of a maid

Other shadows form
and come near your bed
Some real young
But all are dead

They each tell you there story
and what happened to they're life
One was hit, one had a disease
Another killed by his wife

After a while they let you rest
But you felt too sad
Eventually you fell asleep
Because they told you staying awake sometimes is bad

Next morning you wake up
and get ready for school
A few ghosts ask if they come
You told them it's cool

Now when people ask you
"How do you ace tests?"
You turn to them and say
How about you guess.
